  • In 2012 Vietnam recorded that around 55.000 enterprises went bankrupt. Currently, only 312.600 enterprises are still in operation outof the 694.000 enterprises established since the enactment of Vietnam’s Law on Enterprises in 1999. This paper presents the results of an empirical study of business leaders through business decisions they made during 2008-2012 to ensure their companies’ survival; their forecast and expectations for when the recession is over and the competencies needed for successful leadership in times of recession.
